Australian Impressionism Workshop: Radical

The radically small 9 by 5 paintings created by the Australian Impressionists over 100 years ago are here! In an exhibition walk, kids will get to know some of the greats of Australian art who bent the rules and dared to be different. Then they will make their own 9 by 5 painting in the studio. Suitable for ages 6 - 10 & 11+ years. Fully supervised.

Great Hall Art: Sneaker Seeker

A last chance to seek out and marvel at the variety of sneakers on display with a look and find activity in the Sneakers exhibition and draw your own sneaker designs in the Great Hall. Suitable ages 4+ years.

Workshop: Sneakers

If your big kids love their sneakers they will have a great time discovering the variety of classic and custom designs in a tour of the Sneakers exhibition. Then in the studio, they will explore design possibilities to decorate and customise a pair of sneakers to take home. Fully supervised and bring own lunch. All materials provided, including a pair of Dunlop Volleys. Suitable ages 11-15 years.

Workshop: Making Faces

Picasso and the Ancient Egyptians painted faces, Indian sculptors carved them and Pre Columbians modelled them in clay. Kids join a Gallery walk and meet some of the famous faces in the NGV Collection, then in the studio make a mask using a variety of materials. Suitable ages 5+ years.

Meet us at the Artcart every Sunday from 12noon - 3pm, where kids get to know the NGV Collection and temporary exhibitions, learn to look at art and create art works of their own. Suitable ages 3+ years.
