Cock Blocked by Corona

Cock Blocked by Corona

Cock Blocked by Corona is a new podcast which navigates the dating world with the added challenge of Covid-19. How do relationships dive, survive or thrive during a pandemic? What do you do when you're finally ready to date but have to isolate?

Melbourne ladies Lauren McKenna and Hannah Fredericksen lovingly push their newly single best friend Kate Foster into the uncharted waters of dating from a distance and in quarantine.

Each episode takes a candid look at dating in 2020 and how "after years of hilarious dating experiences and one particular recent heartbreak, I was finally ready to re-enter the dating world when Corona unexpectedly hit," explains Kate Foster.

"I'm willing to put my pride aside for people's entertainment," continues Kate. "Making a podcast seemed like a no-brainer to bring some joy and laughter into the world, collaborate with my best friends and just maybe, finally find love."

As each episode airs every Monday, the Corona Queens Lauren and Hannah delve further into Kate's dating history as she shares astonishing admissions, shameless anecdotes and introduces listeners to some of the key bachelors from her past including Cuban Heel, Korean Kutie, Shane Warne's Butch Cousin, Hungry Jack and The Want-repreneur among many others.

Lauren and Hannah also discuss their grand plans to #GetKateADate as they help Kate set up her dating app profile on Bumble. A supervised "swipe sesh" has resulted in current potential bachelors Construction Cutie AKA Behind These Hazel Eyes, Iron Man, Game of Thrones and Holy Guacamole.

Cock Blocked by Corona also touches on some very serious relationship issues given Kate's most recent and raw heartbreak with The New York Narcissist. Lauren and Hannah go "full Dr. Phil" to uncover what really happened to their best friend, and what can be learnt from a toxic relationship and disastrous break-up.

"If you feel like someone is chipping away at your self-confidence and sanity, and treating you like you don't exist then it is not okay. Sometimes you need to say it out loud to a friend for it to resonate because there is nothing like having the truth reflected back at you in the faces of your friends and family," says Kate.

"We're so proud of Kate for having the bravery to not only release herself from a toxic situation but to also share her story so candidly on our podcast. We've been overwhelmed by the amount of people who relate to Kate's story and also to the story of our friendship in supporting her through such a horrible time," says Hannah Fredericksen.

"I felt quite helpless at times as the close friend of someone in such a toxic situation. Standing by Kate and respecting her choices has always been of paramount importance but it is a challenge to give advice and support without fracturing the friendship. Empathy, patience and listening are all key," says Lauren McKenna.

To further engage with their listeners in each episode Lauren, Hannah and Kate discuss how romance needs to get creative in these challenging times, how singles and couples are doing an almighty "pandemic pivot" in their love lives and even offer their listeners the chance to request a topic for them to discuss and dissect in a weekly segment called "The Fanny Forum".

Nothing is off topic for these ladies as their clit-mitment to find Kate's forever after may only be a swipe away.

"It's been a real joy to collaborate on something so many people are enjoying and hanging out for on their Mondays in isolation," says Lauren.

"I am completely overwhelmed by the response and so grateful to have a creative outlet in an otherwise completely dark time," says Hannah.
