Australia's oldest and most prestigious art award, The Archibald Prize, will be exhibited at the Victorian Arts Centre, in the newly refurbished George Adams Gallery. This year's exhibition features portraits of well-known Australians including Deborah Conway, Anthony Mundine and Jenny Morris. This year's winner of the $35,000 prize is Cherry Hood for her portrait Simon Tedeschi unplugged depicting acclaimed Australian pianist Simon Tedeschi. The Victorian Arts Centre has programmed several free events in conjunction with The Archibald Prize including an artist discussion panel, floor talks in the gallery, a children's portrait prize and the annual People's Choice Awards.

The Sunday Market at the Victorian Arts Centre brings together over 150 stalls of the finest arts and crafts from around Victoria. The Sunday Market is the place to find one-of-a-kind gifts ranging from handcrafted Australian timber products and Aboriginal artefacts, to organic teas and homemade preserves.
