Sydney Turf Club's Spring Carnival
Ladies, frock up, and men, don your suits to escape the doldrums of winter by racing in to Sydney Turf Club's Spring Carnival. Rosehill Gardens - Home of the Golden Slipper - attracts over 35,000 racegoers throughout the three day Spring Carnival and is expected to set record crowds again this year.

The Carnival kicks off Saturday August 27th with Rosehill Gardens' most exciting day - Golden Rose Day. Sydney launches its Spring Racing Carnival with the richest race of the season, the $1 million Tooheys New Golden Rose. Not only will the horses be racing for a million dollars at Rosehill Gardens, but every one who attends will have the chance to win a million dollars on the day in the 'Be a Millionaire' sweepstake competition.

The Tooheys New Golden Rose sees all horses nominated for the 2005 Golden Slipper eligible to compete in the $1 million event as three year olds. The race is run over 1,400m at Rosehill Gardens and invites strong Slipper contenders including Stratum, Fashions Afield, Snitzel, Mnemosyne, Media and Domesday.Day two of the Spring Carnival at Rosehill Gardens is Sydney Turf Club's Mad About the Hat Day, Saturday September 10th. This is the biggest day of the Carnival and will attract a crowd toward 15,000. Women can expect to receive royal treatment with loads of giveaways, competitions, entertainment and a huge Fashions on the Field prize pool up for grabs.

Not only is competition tight for horses lining up for the Group 2 Rydges Parramatta Theo Marks Stakes, fashionable fillies are also vying for over $20,000 worth of prizes. Women, dressed to the nines, compete in the celebrated Fashions on the Field each year making this the most elegant day of the Spring Carnival.

Spring racing at Rosehill Gardens then moves to another huge event, Family Fun Day with the Group 2 Tea Rose Stakes held Saturday 17 September.

This is Sydney Turf Club's most exciting day for families with fine racing and family trackside action. An exclusive family area is established so that Mum & Dad can enjoy racing in a family friendly environment. There are tonnes of gifts and giveaways for children with additional prizes on offer for families. Pumpkin Patch Kids' Fashions on the Field is also a big winner with Sydney's most fashionable bambinos strutting their stuff for some fantastic prizes.

'Spring is a wonderful time to go racing,' says Sydney Turf Club General Manager of Marketing & Sales, Mr Ian Mackay. 'From Golden Rose day right through to our picnic races on Melbourne Cup Day, Sydney-siders have embraced Spring racing. The fashion, the weather and the good horses combine to make a huge celebration and a great escape from winter,' Mr Mackay continued.
