I Can Play Anything

'I truly believe that if we nourish our children with beautiful, rich and joyful tunes, they will grow up happy and full of life. They will sing and dance and so will their children' - Jay Laga'aia

Jay Laga'aia is one of Australia's most recognised faces having starred in an extraordinary number of films, TV programs and stage productions. Jay is currently seen on television as Rev. Elijah Johnson on Home and Away as well as his ongoing role as one of the most popular hosts of Play School.

If that's not enough to keep him busy, Jay is also filming the third series of ABC TV's Bed of Roses. His other TV credits include, Water Rats, Xena Warrior Princess and Legend of the Seeker. Jay's film credits are similarly impressive including Stars Wars Episodes II and III, Nims Island and Daybreakers. Jay also played the role of Mufasa in the stage production ofThe Lion King and wrote and directed his own children's show Jay's Place which was awarded the 2007 Sydney Theatre Award for Best Production for Children.

To add to Jay's many talents, he is now releasing his much anticipated second children's CD I Can Play Anything. This is the follow up to his highly successful 2007 release Come Dance and Sing which was nominated for a 2008 ARIA award for Best Children's Album.

I Can Play Anything was true joy for Jay to make. All tracks on the CD have been written by Jay and are a diverse range of musical genres, many of which reflect Jay's own personal musical influences, James Brown (Funky the Monkey) Earth, Wind & Fire (La La Song), Bob Marley (I Can Play Anything), Miriam Makeba (Tembo), James Taylor (Rain), Gloria Estefan (Kitchen Conga) and Andrae Crouch and the Disciples (Float Away). My Ukulele reflects Jay's Polynesian roots.

As a father of eight, Jay has incredible insight into children's imaginations, play time and just having fun. I Can Play Anything combines all of this into a CD that children and adults alike will find themselves dancing around the house and singing along in the car.
