Cathy and her family continue to soldier on in The Big C: Season 3, taking a brutally honest and often funny look at a family living with a cancer diagnosis. Featuring Golden Globe® winner Laura Linney, (John Adams, Love Actually), this character driven drama reflects on the impacts that cancer has on Cathy and her family. From denial and anger in previous seasons, the family now find enlightenment after discovering that Cathy's cancer is in remission.
Forty-something suburban wife and mother, Cathy, is a reserved cancer survivor who learns to fully live life for the first time after finding herself in remission. The discovery results in her making some drastic life choices, such as assuming a secret identity and impulsively trying to adopt a baby. Paul (Oliver Platt), Cathy's husband, also gets a second chance, surviving a heart attack from the previous season. He becomes a successful motivational speaker with the help of a sketchy mentor and 'Joyologist", Susan Sarandon (Dead Man Walking, Rescue Me).
Candid, funny and increasingly poignant, The Big C: Season 3 takes viewers on a journey through one family's battle with cancer, finding the humour and light side of a dark situation.
