Nick Barker & The Monkey Men play the Rolling Stones

Friday 27th October, 2017

On Friday 27th October, a star-studded local band featuring Nick Barker, Ashley Davies, Shane O'Mara, Justin Garner and Grant Cummerford are set to perform a selection of material from The Stone's golden age and beyond.

Across two big sets the band will feature tracks, well known and some more obscure, from the classic Stones albums including Beggars Banquet, Let It Bleed, Sticky Fingers, Exile On Main Street, Goats Head Soup, It's Only Rock n Roll, Black & Blue and Some Girls.

Dance the night away to Stones favourites such as Far Away Eyes, Beast of Burden, Factory Girl and more! It will be a night to get a little nostalgic and appreciate the greatness that is The Rolling Stones.

Nick Barker - first came to prominence in the mid-'80s with The Wreckery, he then went on to form Nick Barker & The Reptiles who received significant chart success. Over recent years Nick has been pursuing a solo career and his current project is the Heartache State who have just released their second album Last of the Buffalo.

Justin Garner - Justin Garner and Nick Barker have been playing together on and off for over 15 years. Originating from Adelaide, Garner played guitar in rock n roll outfit Southpaw, who's debut album was produced by Barker. Justin in return played on Nick's last solo record (Blackwater Blues) and is also a member of the Heartache State.

Grant Cummerford - Hailing from Sydney, Grant moved to Melbourne to play bass in The Necessary Few with Matt Walker and Roger Bergodaz. During his years thumping the strings, Grant has played alongside Jeff Lang, Chris Whitley, Xavier Rudd, Mia Dyson, The Audreys, Kevin Borich and Chain. Grant's experience combined with his anarchic approach to the bass make him one of Australia's favourite bass players.

Shane O'Mara - One of Melbourne's finest guitarist, Shane has played most prominently with Chris Wilson, Paul Kelly, Stephen Cummings and his own band Rebecca's Empire. He has recorded and produced artists such as Tim Rogers, Lisa Miller and the Heartache State at his studio 'Yikesville'.

Ashley Davies - Ashley Davies is regarded as one of Australia's most innovative and finest drummer/composers. Throughout a career spanning 3 decades, Davies has covered many miles of rich musical terrain and clocked up a dazzling score of credits to his name. Davies has been a part of a long standing duo with fellow blues musician Matt Walker and is currently the drummer of choice for '80s band Models. Davies' latest solo offering 'Pulse Transit' is a 32-minute, non-stop musical venture through time and rhythm.
