Mountain Sounds Festival 2016

Following a sell-out event earlier this year with the likes of world-class acts Alison Wonderland, Touch Sensitive, Tkay Maidza and SAFIA (to name a few) on the line up, rural romp Mountain Sounds Festival today announces that Saturday, 20 February 2016 should be wiped clear in your calendar. Housed in the unique landscape of NSW's Central Coast, the boutique festival's third year is set to be their biggest yet, with $79 + bf early bird tickets on sale now.

Returning to the stunning surrounds of Mount Penang Parklands in Kariong, NSW, the festival is situated halfway between Sydney and Newcastle. Festivalgoers will have the opportunity to take in the natural beauty and cultural delights of the Central Coast whilst listening to favourite acts. The chance to sleep under the glowing stars is also returning for the third year with the option camp on Friday and Saturday night. Campsites will again feature parties, silent discos and more ways to let down your hair, mountain style. 2016 will see the festival expand into five stages (including a new -secret' area), and include the markets, pop-up bars, live art and installations.

The previous two years featured a hefty handful of Australia's music elite, including the likes of Sticky Fingers, Ball Park Music, The Kite String Tangle, and many more. The 2016 line-up will undoubtedly follow suit, with some of the most diverse and hyped acts in the country in line to play. Stay tuned for the first line-up announcement which is set to drop late October.

Mountain Sounds Festival is a proudly local, environmentally sustainable event, priding itself on providing a platform to support local artists, business and the wider community. Having grown up locally, event organisers are passionate about the local area and will be taking care to prevent negative environmental impact and reducing the carbon footprint.

Says festival organisers Adam Masters and Clayton Parker "We're noticing that more and more people are coming to the festival regardless of who's playing which is exciting! The festival in 2016 will be our third year of operation and even after selling out this year, we will be stepping up in all aspects with new experiences whilst maintaining our core values and objectives. Expect weirder."
