Interview with Sophie Falkiner

Question: Can you talk about what Nintendo's My Life In 3D is?

Sophie Falkiner: It's an exclusive photographic exhibition open in central Sydney displaying a range of 3D photographs on Nintendo 3DS consoles from the lives of four fascinating Australians.


Question: How have you been involved in Nintendo's My Life In 3D?

Sophie Falkiner: I spent a week taking the Nintendo 3DS console everywhere, taking photos with the 3D camera of my everyday life and these are now on the Nintendo 3DS console in a special exhibition in 3D at the Argyle.


Question: Can you talk about the images you've taken and what they are of?

Sophie Falkiner: My first shot was of my son and his bestie having a playdate, playing truck in my kitchen.
My second shot was of me in the make-up chair at channel 7, just before I went onto Sunrise.
My third shot was of my two kids and I having breakfast first thing in the morning.
My fourth shot was of Alex Perry and myself in his office having a dress fitting for an upcoming event.
My fifth shot was of my son climbing trees while waiting for my daughter to get out of school.
My final shot was of me doing some early morning yoga.


Question: How did you go about choosing the right images, to capture?

Sophie Falkiner: I took hundreds of photos and I Nintendo chose a selection to showcase.


Question: Why did you think it was important to capture motherhood as well as your TV presenting life?

Sophie Falkiner: Because motherhood is my most important role, and something I am most proud of. Also, my kids photographed really well in 3D!


Question: What have the other fascinating Australians chosen to capture?

Sophie Falkiner: Everything from crocodiles from Tony Blums to the Sydney Harbour Bridge from international photographer, James Morgan to family pets and golfing holidays with Host of the X-Factor Luke Jacobz.


Question: How easy was it to use the Nintendo 3DS console?

Sophie Falkiner: It was super easy to use, the only thing you had to keep in mind was to keep it still.


Question: What other features does the Nintendo 3DS console have?

Sophie Falkiner: You can play a range of games in 3D on the console, as well as being able to play with great effects on the 3D camera including black and white, sepia and adding borders and little stars to your photos.
