Interview with Laura Mazza

Laura Mazza known as "mum on the run" has been writing via social media for two years from everything from motherhood, relationships and mental health to mistaking a toy for a mouse, farting at yoga and using a vibrator for the first time. A social worker by trade, Laura started her blog as a way to help other mothers in their journey as well as her own journey into motherhood and navigating life with three children under 5.

Question: Can you tell us a little bit about yourself?

Laura Mazza: I'm a 32 year old living in Melbourne who is a mama to three babies. A 4 year old, 3 year old and a 9 month old, and it is exactly how it sounds: chaotic. I come from a psychology and social work background but it still didn't stop me from getting postnatal depression. I am a blogger and a writer and I love to use what I've been through and what I've learned to empower other mothers who are going through the same thing.

Question: What or who are you most looking forward to hearing at The Essential Baby & Toddler Show?

Laura Mazza: Everyone; I love hearing different experiences, it's so great to connect.

Question: Can you tell us about the insight you'll be sharing with new parents and parents-to-be?

Laura Mazza: Hmm, probably that the hardest part of becoming a parent is definitely the children! I guess that no one is insightful, and so long as you know that, you'll never feel like you're doing it wrong.

Question: What's the one piece of advice you'd give to new parents and parents-to-be?

Laura Mazza: If you are struggling, it's okay to ask for help.

Question: What types of topics will the Beginner's Guide Forums be covering?

Laura Mazza: Body's after babies, sex after babies and returning to work after babies.

Question: Why did you choose to cover Beginners' Guide to Sex after Childbirth with Anne Thurlow?

Laura Mazza: Well I said I'm game for anything so here we are; after my first I thought I'd never have sex again as I went through the wars and it was actually a traumatic and painful experience both physically and mentally, but I got through it, so I'd like to share that with others.

Question: What message do you hope attendees of the Beginners' Guide to Sex after Childbirth forum take away?

Laura Mazza: That a hat on the door means nothing to a toddler.
