After coming to the realisation that the death of Claire Kuchever (PAULA PATTON) was staged to look as though she died in the bombing, Carlin realises that the mysterious clues surrounding the case don't add up and the investigation soon takes a whole new dimension.

Agent Pryzwarra of the FBI (VAL KILMER) approaches Carlin to help in the investigation of the bombing through the use of a futuristic top-secret government device. Carlin soon discovers that the machine is much more than a window into the past. It is at this point the story takes on an extraordinary and thrilling twist. Carlin at his own peril, sees the time-shifting surveillance machine as a chance to re-enter the past and prevent the bombing from ever taking place, all while rescuing Claire from her fate.
