Sharna Burcher returns in 2021 with her earnest new single
'The Hardest Parts', the second single anticipating the release of her upcoming sophomore album
Backwards Town.
'The Hardest Parts' is set follow the success of
Burcher's previous single, the title track from
'Backwards Town' which reached number 1 on
the iTunes Country charts.
'The Hardest Parts' comes from a deeply personal place, and it comes from the grief of losing her mother.
"The Hardest Parts is one of the most personal songs I have written, and also my first positive love song", Burcher says.
"The inspiration came from losing my Mum and my partner losing both of his parents. We lost all 3 within two years of each other and all quite young. It was a hard and very emotional time for us."
The song is also testament to resilience and drawing the strength to carry on in the face of tragedy.
"'The Hardest Parts' is a reflection on how much our lives have changed in the last few years, and how their loss has made us stronger both as individuals and as a couple."
'The Hardest Parts' was recorded at
Troubadour House Studios in Nashville Tennessee and produced by award winning multi-instrumentalist and producer
Bill Chambers. It features instrumental support from
Bill and
Nash Chambers, Australian musicians
Jedd Hughes,
Lucky Oceans, and
Tim McGraw and
Faith Hill's drummer
Shawn Fitcher, Tony Lacido, and
Emmie Chambers.
Burcher's previous single, the mischievous
'Backwards Town' received airplay on a host of stations including
Kix Country,
Australian County Radio and
Kik FM Mareeba. She has also had many high-profile support slots on tours with
Fanny Lumsden,
Catherine Britt,
Robyn Ludwick and
Aleyce Simmonds. Burcher has also played the
Clarence Town River Country Hoedown,
Silverton Sunset Festival and
the Fred Eaglesmith Charity Festival in Aylmer, Ontario, performing with
Bill Chambers as part of a tour of the USA and Canada.
Bill Chambers himself has said: "
Sharna Burcher is one of those rare artists who understands and continues to stay true to the roots of country music". As
Burcher sings
"time is a thief, and it waits for no-one", so don't sleep on this one. This is
Sharna Burcher at her heartfelt best.
