Ahead of the release of his debut album Gentleman out later this month on July 24, Platinum and 2x ARIA award-winning artist Budjerah has today shared the new single 'Even At My Worst' via Warner Music Australia. Listen HERE.
Written by acclaimed songwriter Diane Warren (Beyonce, Lady Gaga, Cher, Celine Dion), and produced by Grammy Award winning Om'Mas Keith (Frank Ocean, John Legend, Jay-Z), 'Even At My Worst' is a soulfully layered pop song with a nostalgic leaning hook. Exploring the idea of finding someone who loves you unconditionally, he sings "Even at my worst, you think I'm the best. You keep loving me".
"I was very lucky to meet one of my songwriting heroes, Diane Warren, at her studios in Los Angeles. She gave me the song, and it really took me back to when I started writing myself, and my parents were supporting me the whole way. The lyrics reflected the gratitude I wanted to express to them for always supporting me. So this is my gratitude song." Budjerah says of the song.
Alongside the single he has also shared the official music video which sees him making his directorial debut. Filmed in his hometown of Fingal Head, the video follows Budjerah's family and friends and shows the love and the community which complements the heart of the song. Showcasing his childhood, and the unconditional love and joy he grew up with, this video draws on the heartstrings and perfectly captures the soul behind his upcoming debut album. Watch HERE.
Budjerah's debut album Gentleman will be released on Friday 24 July and has been led by the singles "Could I Be", "Gentleman" and "Want You Back". Produced by Om'Mas Keith, this record boldly captures who Budjerah is as an artist with a nod to the pop and RNB music he grew up listening to. Pre-order HERE.
