Interview with Anton Berezin, Managing Director of Life Like Touring

Question: Can you tell us about the Peppa Pig Playdate show coming to Sydney and Melbourne?

Anton Berezin: Peppa Pig Playdate is very much more than a show. Families are invited into the world of Peppa Pig. You arrive in Peppa's village, can roam freely and create your own adventure in the company of Peppa, her family and friends. The village is a larger-than-life, authentic recreation of the world exactly as kids and families have come to know it from the popular television series.

Question: What are some of the different adventure zones?

Anton Berezin: There are so many things to do and places to see! You can visit Peppa's house, ride Grandpa Pigs train, jump in (inflatable) Muddy Puddles, play in the Dinosaur Playground, play music in the Music Room or create your own masterpieces in the Craft Room, meet Peppa and her friends at the Museum, Fire-Station or Library, see Peppa and George perform their live show at the Main Stage, navigate the Hedge Maze and visit Mr Fox's Shop.

Question: Will there be photo opportunities with Peppa Pig at all shows?

Anton Berezin: Absolutely, everyone gets a personal Playdate/Meet and Greet with Peppa; Mums and Dads should have their phones/camera's ready.

Question: Why is Peppa Pig Playdate the best activity for kids this coming winter school holidays?

Anton Berezin: It's an amazing interactive experience where the audience becomes the stars of the show. You get to enjoy your very own playdate with Peppa Pig. It's a completely unique, shared immersive experience for children and their guardians.

Question: Can you tell us about your role as event producer for Peppa Pig Playdate?

Anton Berezin: I first came up with this idea in 2015. We had been producing the touring Peppa Pig theatre shows and managing promotional appearances for some years. We really wanted to put kids into the story and create life-long shared memories for families to cherish. I pitched the idea to our partners at Entertainment One (producers of the Peppa TV show) and they loved it! Although it's an interactive event, it's written and scripted just like a theatre show. I wrote this with the help of our Creative Director, Theresa Borg, who is an early-learning specialist, to make the event as immersive and authentic as possible. We first produced the event in 2017 and it was a stunning success. I'm really looking forward to seeing a new generation of Peppa fans share this wonderful experience with their friends and family.

Question: What's next for Life Like Touring?

Anton Berezin: Our Paw Patrol touring shows continue to tour the world – we open in Holland and Hong Kong in a couple of weeks with France and Germany launching in early 2020. Also, Pixar Putt, our Disney Pixar themed pop-up mini-golf is running in Brisbane at the moment before we hit the high-seas with it at the end of 2019. There are a couple of other fabulous touring shows we have in development for launch early next year.

Question: What's next for you? Will we see you on the stage, again, soon?

Anton Berezin: I'm never been too far away from the stage since my first professional gig with the Australian Ballet (in the Magic Flute) when I was seven. This year I performed in Evita for Opera Australia and we've just finished producing Sweeney Todd starring Anthony Warlow and Gina Riley, I really enjoyed being on stage in that show as well as producing it.
