After a three-year hiatus from releasing music, Australian multi-instrumentalist and producer Wilson Blackley returns with the release of "Wired" co-produced by Sensible J (Sampa the Great, Remi, Immy Owusu) " released through Blackley's new independent label N.E.M,striking and soulful new single that marks a compelling evolution in his sound while staying rooted in the heartfelt storytelling and sonic warmth that have defined his work to date co-written by Liam Mcgorry (Saskwatch, Dorsal Fins, Ella Thompson.) A defining moment came at just 18, when his song "Home" caught the attention of Sam Teskey (The Teskey Brothers), who co-produced the track and helped launch Blackley into the national spotlight. The single's success led to a sold-out show at The Gasometer and festival slots alongside The Teskey Brothers and Boy and Bear.
In 2022, Blackley teamed up with Sensible J (Sampa the Great, Remi, Immy Owusu) to release his debut EP "Material Plane P1", a critically acclaimed project that blended classic soul, psychedelic textures, and raw, poetic songwriting. Blackley on Wired - With "Wired", Blackley picks up where Material Plane P1 left off"melding the emotional depth of his earlier work with a fresh urgency and electric new energy. The track sees Wilson fully embracing his role as a boundary-pushing producer and songwriter, delivering a sound that is both intimate and expansive.
