Sachie's Kitchen

Based on Sachie Nomura's successful cooking school and TV series, this is the perfect guide for everyone who loves contemporary Japanese cuisine.

Sachie's recipes are a combination of her family recipes with her own twist, plus her own original creations.

Sachie's Kitchen is a rich infusion of delectable recipes, information on common Japanese ingredients and cooking utensils, notes about growing up in Japan, manners and etiquette, festivals, arriving in New Zealand and the difference in food culture between the two countries and much more. Within the pages Sachie also shares some of her personal food philosophy: -Sharing is caring: food shouldn't be made for a single person – it should be made to share.'

Sachie Nomura's story of success in New Zealand is legendary. She arrived in Auckland to study English before going on to major in Chinese and Linguistics at Auckland University. While working in a local travel agency she was fortunate to live with and be home-schooled by some leading Japanese chefs in Auckland. When two colleagues died suddenly from heart attacks, Sachie was compelled to map out what she most wanted to achieve in life. She knew she wanted to use her knowledge of Japanese cooking and her private brainstorming session turned into a vision for Sachie's Kitchen. She left her job at the height of a recession, found a suitable business premises and began her journey. Several years on, her business is thriving and has become the largest and most awarded Asian cooking school in Australasia.
