Young fashion designer Alexandra Meehan is fast becoming known for her mystical, edgy kid's wear.
Graduating from Whitehouse Institute of Design, with an eclectic range for children, Alexandra is the only student in the history of the Institute to do so.
She has a way of playing it out with colours and designs as shown in her latest ready-to-play Camelot range.
Inspiration for the new collection stems from her childhood adventures - princes, princesses, dragons, castles, knights and fair maidens. All pieces embrace the whimsical elements of magical, mythical, faraway kingdoms where everyone lives happily ever after.
The Camelot Range incorporates dusty pink tutu's, colourful striped leggings and bejewelled long sleeve tee's - it's cuteness overload for any budding young princess. Sir Lancelot inspired long sleeve tee's embellished with gallantry, plus durable orange spliced navy hoodies are perfect for any bold knight about to embark on a crusade.
"I loved my childhood," Alexandra said. "It was filled with Enid Blyton books and the Grimm Brother's fairytales. I think that's what makes Heavenly Creatures stand out - it's my inner child. I'm telling a story and that's what fashion is all about."
Heavenly Creatures garments are proudly made in Melbourne and each piece represents the magical playfulness and quirkiness of being a child: innocence sometimes combined with mischief. A time for dreaming and imagination.
