Budjerah Begins New Chapter With Irresistible Single 'Want You Back'
Today, Platinum and 2x ARIA award-winning artist Budjerah opens a new chapter with "Want You Back" via Warner Music Australia. Listen HERE. Set in a coming-of-age landscape, this nostalgic influenced track pays homage to all of the 90's and 2000's music he grew up listening to while bringing a fresh funk-pop perspective to the front. Produced by Om'Mas Keith (Frank Ocean, John Legend), and written by MSquared (Michael Paynter and Michael Delorenzis), "Want You Back" serves as the undeniable first taste from his forthcoming debut album. Watch the official music video also out today HERE.

"I recorded a demo of this song a few years ago and I couldn't let it go. I'm so inspired by uptempo music and dance at this point in my life. In many of the hard times I've had over the last few years, especially having to take a break from performing, dancing always made me happy. The demo of this song was on my playlist during my dance practice. I hope this song inspires others the same way it did for me and find ways to have fun even when you're having troubles in your life"
Budjerah says of the new track.

Since the release of the 2024 single "Is It Ever Gonna Make Sense", Budjerah embarked on a national headline tour, performed at the 2024 Aria Awards with Cyril and Becca Hatch, and has been in the studio putting the final touches on his to-be-announced debut album. Following the release of "Want You Back", next month Budjerah will open for Jacob Banks in Brisbane, before then headlining Bell Beats Music And Arts Festival in Cowra and Dream Aloud Festival in Cairns. Amassing a staggering 50 million combined career streams to-date, and Platinum single "Therapy" achieving over 17.6 million on Spotify, Budjerah is on the cusp of becoming a household name. Already a 2 x ARIA Award winner (Breakthrough Artist in 2021 and Best Soul/R&B Release in 2022), he's been nominated for 15 in total, as well as received an APRA Award (Most Performed R&B / Soul Work for "Higher"), and in 2022 he was named GQ Australia's Breakthrough Artist. In 2023 he opened for Ed Sheeran on his sold-out stadium tour after collaborating with Sheeran on "2Step", and then later that year performed "I Still Call Australia Home" with the legendary Kylie Minogue at the QANTAS gala, and contributed the theme song to Baz Luhrmann's 2023 television series, "Faraway Downs."
