Blackmores for the Multi-Tasking Supermum

Blackmores for the Multi-Tasking Supermum

I opened my emails at work this morning, and what was the first thing I read? Another fluffy article about a celebrity supermum who manages to jet around the world filming movies, attending premieres and starring in glamorous photo shoots yet still has time to cook dinners for her family and spend quality time with her children - all while maintain the youthful appearance of a twenty-one years old. I just about cried into my teacup.

I've never been as busy and tired as I am at this point in time. Harper is nine and Dale is seven, and I'm now working full time. Most days, I'm up at 5:30am. After a quick run with Alby (our Labrador) and a shower I make the kids' breakfasts and lunches then drag them out of bed. If I'm lucky I catch a glimpse of my husband before he dashes off to work.

There's always a drama: Alby won't stop barking, the hot water won't turn on, Dale can't find his favourite cap, Harper isn't speaking to Dale because he stole her diary and then posted bits of it on Facebook.

I drop the kids off at school then head to work, where it's meetings, presentations, more meetings and, if I'm lucky, some time to get some actual work done. Then I head home via after-school care to cook dinner and help with homework. If you asked me to sum up how I'm feeling right now, tired and stressed would be an understatement. I'm trying to be a multi-tasking supermum but it's not easy. In fact, I'd settle for difficult.

And because I'm stressed, I know I'm not eating the right foods all the time. I'm drinking more wine than I should and I'm snacking on chocolate and lollies. I even think things aren't quite right "down there" as a result.

So after reading that email this morning, I decided to make today my day and to do something about my hectic lifestyle. I picked up the phone and dialed Blackmores Ask a Naturopath service. It's a free call but you can also log onto their website and send questions via chat or email. I was quickly transferred to Stephanie the naturopath, who politely listened as I poured out my heart and soul. She then suggested three products which may be of benefit to someone in my situation:
Blackmores Women's D-Stress: a vitamin that helps to replenish nutrients which are beneficial in supporting the body's normal response to stress.
Blackmores Women's Bio Balance: a unique one-a-day oral probiotic which may help reduce the colonisation of "bad" bacteria and yeast in the vagina and re-establish a "good" bacteria to help protect against imbalances.
Blackmores Women's Vitality Multi: a multivitamin that provides support for women's hectic lifestyles helping to fill nutritional gaps in the diet and boost everyday energy levels.

I can't get rid of my kids (nor would I want to), and I can't quit my job. But I can try and get my energy levels up and my stress levels down, so I'm going to give these products a go. Who knows? Maybe I'll soon be laughing with all those other celebrity mums.

Always read the label. Use only as directed. If symptoms persist see your healthcare professional. Vitamin supplements should not replace a balanced diet.
