Travis Scott At Number 1

Travis Scott At Number 1

This week marks a monumental point in Travis Scott's career, as the artist dominates the charts with the #1 single and album in the United States. Travis' 2x RIAA platinum-certified 'SICKO MODE' has claimed the #1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. This is the first time Travis Scott has topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart after peaking at #2 on the chart earlier this year upon the release of the single's video. Additionally, Travis' album ASTROWORLD has claimed the #1 spot again on the Billboard 200 chart this week, marking the album's third time to achieve #1 in 2018 after occupying the top spot for two weeks upon its release on August 3rd, 2018. The album is currently enjoying its 15th consecutive week in the Billboard Top 200 Album Chart. The combined feat of having a #1 single and album is fitting considering the banner year that Travis Scott has seen.

These achievements follow a whirlwind week for Travis Scott – the superstar released the Nabil directed video for ASTROWORLD single 'YOSEMITE' featuring Gunna. The video includes an appearance from Gunna who is currently on tour with Travis. The 'YOSEMITE' video comes days after Travis released the remix of his bona fide smash 'SICKO MODE' by American DJ and producer Skrillex.

Travis Scott is currently in the midst of his ASTROWORLD: WISH YOU WERE HERE" tour, where he recently performed two star-studded sold out shows at New York City's Madison Square Garden Rolling Stone commented on Travis' New York City performances revealing: "Travis Scott's 'Astroworld' Tour Is the Greatest Show on Earth."

Additionally, ASTROWORLD has retained a spot in the Top 10 on the Billboard Top 200 album chart after debuting at #1, currently been Top 10 for the 17th week in a row. Upon its release, the album earned the "second highest debut of the year," and raised the bar by achieving the "biggest ever first-week streaming total for Sony Music" with 349.43 million streams worldwide. This notably marked the highest pure sales week of the year as well. In Australia, the album debuted at #1 on the national Aria Album chart. In timely fashion for the incredible debut, a Travis Scott inflatable sailed through Sydney harbour joining major cities of the world including London, New York, Houston, Paris and Los Angeles with this artistic parade. Acclaimed by Pitchfork, Entertainment Weekly, Rolling Stone, and more with Travis Scott gracing the cover of GQ, this takeover paved the way for his second MTV VMA performance, ASTROWORLD Festival in Houston, and the gargantuan "ASTROWORLD: WISH YOU WERE HERE TOUR" in 2018 and 2019.
