Dial up the New Year's Eve decadence at Rockpool Dining Group premium restaurants

Sydneysiders and visitors ringing in the New Year in the Harbour City can choose from a series of decadent set menus at Rockpool Dining Group premium restaurants.

Sydney institution Rockpool Bar & Grill is offering a four-course, set menu, including Spencer Gulf kingfish with lemon, black sesame and Davidson Plum; Abrolhos Island scallops with aleppo pepper and orange oil and Cape Grim 36-month, grass-fed fillet served with radicchio, cos and endive salad with palm sugar vinaigrette, and potato puree. The signature, and stunning, Catherine's passionfruit pavlova brings the meal to a close. The New Year's Eve package includes a glass of NV Ruinart 'R de Ruinart' Brut ($155pp). Wine pairings are an additional $55 per person. A la carte menu also available.

Add a kick to New Year's Eve with Spice Temple's banquet menu, which begins with entrées of cucumbers with smashed garlic and ginger; pickled cabbage and radish; white cut chicken with strange flavour dressing and a choice of raw yellowfin tuna with spicy orange oil, or lamb and cumin pancake. Main dishes include pippies with either salted olive and black bean, or XO sauce; stir-fried spanner crab with mung bean noodles; hot and numbing crispy duck; stir-fried wagyu brisket; and Sichuan-style, stir-fried water spinach. Squeeze in passionfruit and chocolate tart, if possible, before the clocks strike midnight. The menu costs $110 per person, including a glass of Gosset Champagne. A la carte menu also available.

Rosetta Trattoria turns on the Italian charm with a three-course menu for $110 per person, which includes a glass of Moët Champagne. There are four entrées, five main dishes and three desserts to choose from. Enjoy the balmy ambience of the Little Rose Terrace and catch some of the spectacular fireworks from this stylish rooftop spot.

Spend New Year's Eve at upmarket steakhouse The Cut, which is just a hop, skip and a jump from the harbourside, firework action. Indulge in a three-course set menu, plus premium snacks of goat cheese and leek tartlet; cured salmon atop a cracker with cultured cream and chives; and Sydney Rock oyster with horseradish and Yarra Valley caviar on arrival. Guests then have four entrées, five main dishes and three desserts to choose from, for $119 per person with a glass of Ruinart.

Saké in The Rocks is offering two dinner sittings, 6pm and 8pm, with an a-la-carte menu available and a minimum spend of $129pp required on 8pm sittings. A glass of complimentary Veuve Clicquot is included with the later booking. At sister restaurant in Double Bay the a-la-carte menu is also available, with a minimum spend of $110 on the 8pm sitting.

Saké Restaurant & Bar Manly offers rooftop views of local fireworks at 9pm, with floor-to-ceiling doors opening to onto a terrace with sweeping ocean views. An eight-dish share menu bears Saké's signature, super-fusion stamp and includes a glass of Veuve Clicquot ($149pp). Highlight dishes include appellation oysters, tuna poké with mango, nori crisps and avocado; nasu dengaku – or eggplant tempura; sashimi ceviche salad; crispy skin barramundi; teriyaki wagyu striploin; spicy Brussel sprouts; and green tea soft-serve. An a la carte menu is also available.

Guests can soak up the sunshine at Saké Manly on New Year's Day with a six-dish set menu ($99pp), including an optional, two-hour drinks package ($99pp).
