Petrol Records Signs Lepers & Crooks

Following a huge year of musical development and non-stop touring, Lepers & Crooks have proven themselves as one of the hardest working rock bands in Australia!

Due to their unique sound, strong work ethic and potential as a stadium band, Petrol Records is proud to announce Lepers & Crooks as the first major signing to join the top selling label since INXS re-united with CM Murphy 5 years ago.

Their blistering live show, accompanied by their intelligent and emotive songs set Lepers & Crooks apart and wins them new fans whenever and wherever they are seen or heard! This includes 5 Seconds Of Summer drummer, Ashton Irwin who recently tweeted that Lepers & Crooks were his new favourite band.

'Singer Sam Baker owned the stage, reminiscent of Mick Jagger, Robert Plant or Michael Hutchence." Melissa Rochfort, music writer.

It began with a teenage brotherhood, schoolmates who had a passion for music and getting away from the strain of the outside world to create their own world of sound and camaraderie. This five-piece outfit has been blurring the lines of genre in Sydney's live music scene since forming March of 2012.

Lepers & Crooks sound is a perfectly executed collaboration of cohesive vocal harmonies, contemporary rock riffs, funk rhythms and commanding power drumming. Their dreamscape lyrics perfectly capture today's youth culture as well as the exploration of Rock's illicit trinity: the evolution of the old ethos of sex, drugs and rock & roll into loss, self-destruction and musical nostalgia.

Following their recent 30 date RAW Tour across Australia - Lepers & Crooks are out on the road once again – this time on a very ambitious 50+ date (25,000 km) tour of the country, to support their newly released 'Her Kiss" EP. The groundbreaking and innovative video clip for the title track, features amazing manga art by renowned Japanese artist, Eldo Yoshimizu and can be viewed here.
