Momma Release New Single 'Cross Your Heart' + Announce Deluxe Reissue of 'Welcome to My Blue Sky'
Momma, the band of Etta Friedman (songwriter/vocalist/guitarist), Allegra Weingarten (songwriter/vocalist/guitarist), Aron Kobayashi Ritch (producer/bassist), and Preston Fulks (drummer), today announced Welcome to My Blue Sky (Deluxe Edition)–an expanded digital reissue of their critically-acclaimed latest album–will be released November 14th, 2025, via Lucky Number. The release features five new recordings, including their new single "Cross Your Heart," and a cover of "Christian Brothers" by Elliott Smith/Heatmiser. The new track, out now alongside a video directed by Steph Rinzler for Prophet Media, is the Brooklyn-based band at their best: fuzzed-out, dynamic, and catchy as hell.

"This was one of the first songs we started working on in the writing process for Welcome to My Blue Sky," the band explains. "We actually were messing around with this one during soundchecks while we were still touring Household Name. We always knew it had potential but we could never fully crack it, and this was one of the first songs we started working on in the writing process for Welcome to My Blue Sky. It's about a forbidden romance and sneaking around with another person."
"This video is rooted in the spirit of early '90s DIY VHS culture–loose, raw, and unpolished in all the right ways," Rinzler adds. "I wanted to capture Momma in their own world, goofing around, stumbling into moments, and letting the night carry them. What unfolds is less of a traditional music video and more of a time capsule of a night out. At its core, this project was about keeping the process as fun and unselfconscious as the band is in real life."
Welcome to My Blue Sky and its singles ("I Want You (Fever)," "Rodeo," "Ohio All The Time" and "Bottle Blonde") ascended Momma higher than ever, amassing accomplishments like their late night television debut on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, charting in the Top 25 at Alternative & Top 15 at AAA radio, and many 'Best Albums of the Year (So Far)' nods. This year's career-high praise and support includes The New York Times ('Artists to Watch'), Pitchfork, Rolling Stone (4-star review), SPIN, Stereogum ('Album of the Week'), The FADER (Coolest Artists Right Now), NME, New York Magazine Vulture ('Best Songs of 2025 So Far'), PAPER Magazine, Apple Music's New Music Daily Radio with Zane Lowe, The AV Club, Alternative Press, Perfectly Imperfect, and many more. The band also released live sessions for Sirius XMU and Seattle's iconic public radio station KEXP.
Presented by Frontier Touring and Penny Drop, Momma will be heading to our shores in early January 2026, for their first Australian shows. Fresh from the release of their the Brooklyn indie rock band will bring their electrifying live show to the East Coast, kicking off at Brisbane's Crowbar on Wednesday 21 January, before heading to Sydney's Oxford Art Factory on Friday 23 January and wrapping up at Melbourne's Max Watt's on Saturday 24 January. "We are so excited to be hitting Australia next year! We've been looking forward to playing this country for so long, can't wait to see all of you <333," the band share.
