In an ode to some of the world's most beautiful natural wonders, luxury South American brand, KUNA, has created a new limited-edition collection called Colours of the World.
The collection celebrates the incredible diversity of nature and features woven images of twelve natural wonders from across the world, including Australia's Great Barrier Reef, Antelope Canyon in the United States of America, the Rainbow Mountains in Peru and the Marble Chapels in Chile.
Designed and created in Peru, the reversible shawls were inspired by the beauty of nature and, particularly at a time where society is focussed on sustainability, they highlight the importance of protecting the natural for future generations.
Using cutting-edge technology to provide the most accurate detail and sensational colours, the shawls are woven with a delicate mix of royal alpaca and silk to create exquisite and wearable works of art. Colours of the world applies complex weaving techniques that allow to combine 5 different colours of yarn, through the use of different ligaments, the combination of these 5 colours makes possible to get up to 28 shades.
In addition to the type of texture that is applied to each composition, the sensation of colour is increased by taking this to an artistic level through the management of colour theory in terms of contrasts, nuances and textures.
The blend of royal alpaca fibres and silk ensures the garments are incredibly soft and smooth, whilst maintaining a unique durability thanks to the natural alpaca fibres.
KUNA creates luxurious, elegant and one-of-a-kind Peruvian alpaca and vicuna garments. Each piece reflects KUNA's pledge to conserve both the alpaca species and the Andean culture behind the brand.
