Sydney Pop Artist Holly Serves Up a Memorable Debut with 'Something Sexy'

Having spent recent years carving a formidable presence for herself as a vocalist and collaborator with a number of successful international artists, Sydney-based musician and songwriter HOLLY re-enters the music space with the first taste of her solo music project – 'Something Sexy'.

Fittingly playful and confident, the single determines a core part of the artist's vision as she moves further into a lane that is her own. With influences ranging from FKA twigs to Lana Del Ray; BANKS and early era-The Weeknd, Holly makes her introduction known with this song – a burst of pop music that has fun revelling in themes of passion and desire.

Produced in Sydney with Liam Quinn, 'Something Sexy' was a track that came together easily for Holly, as she was able to lean into memories and allow herself to bring certain stories and chemistry into the recording studio. Of the experience, she explains that "I wrote it about a specific time in my life - One of those moments that felt fun and fleeting.. It was the kind of song that just spills out and writes itself when you're in the right mood with the right person in the room."

To date, Holly's voice and presence as a performer has evolved and impressed on stages with a wide variety of names including (but not limited to) James Blunt, Chase & Status, and Carly Simon.

Her work with South London collective Archive brought Holly to more audiences in the UK, collaborating on tracks including 'Shouting Within' in 2021. Holly has also collaborated with UK DJ duo Eli & Fur,  producers Delta Heavy and Dirty Audio; as well as French group Synapson, whose track 'Hide Away' has accrued over 29 million streams to date.

With the release of 'Something Sexy', Holly kicks off a new artistic chapter, with more to come as this year enters its second half.
