Bon Jovi is an American rock band from Sayreville, New Jersey. Formed in 1983, Bon Jovi consists of lead singer and namesake Jon Bon Jovi, pianist and keyboardist David Bryan, drummer Tico Torres, lead guitarist Phil X, and bassist Hugh McDonald. The band's lineup has remained mostly static during its history, with the only exceptions being the 1994 dismissal of bass player Alec John Such, who was unofficially replaced by Hugh McDonald, and the departure of longtime guitarist and co-songwriter Richie Sambora in 2013. Phil X and McDonald both became official members in 2016.

In 1986, Bon Jovi achieved widespread global recognition with their third album, Slippery When Wet. The band's fourth album, New Jersey was equally successful in 1988. After touring and recording non-stop during the late 1980s, the band went on hiatus following the New Jersey Tour in 1990, during which time Jon Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora both released successful solo albums. In 1992, the band returned with the album Keep the Faith. Their 2000 single "It's My Life", which followed a second hiatus, successfully introduced the band to a younger audience. Bon Jovi have been known to use different styles in their music, which has included country for their 2007 album Lost Highway.

Thus far, Bon Jovi has released 13 studio albums, plus six compilations and three live albums. The band has sold more than 100 million records worldwide, making them one of the best-selling American rock bands of all-time. and performed more than 2,700 concerts in over 50 countries for more than 34 million fans. Bon Jovi was inducted into the UK Music Hall of Fame in 2006, and into the US Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame on April 13th, 2018. The band was also honored with the Award of Merit at the American Music Awards in 2004, and as songwriters and collaborators, Jon Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora were inducted into Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2009.

On December 13, 2017, it was announced that Bon Jovi will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2018, after winning the 2017 fan ballot with over 1.1 million votes. Sambora and Such attended and played with the band at the induction ceremony.

Burning Bridges

Burning Bridges is a compilation album by American rock band Bon Jovi consisting of new songs, as well as formerly unreleased and unfinished songs. The album was released worldwide on August 21, 2015 through Mercury Records. It was produced by John Shanks, and it is the first release since the departure of former guitarist Richie Sambora in 2013 (although he receives a co-writing credit on the single "Saturday Night Gave Me Sunday Morning"). Burning Bridges is the final album released through Mercury, marking the end of a 32-year-old relationship. According to Jon Bon Jovi, the album serves as a "fan record" to tie in with an accompanying international tour: "Itâs songs that werenât finished, that were finished, a couple of new ones like the one we released as a single "We Don't Run"."

Keep the Faith is the fifth studio album by American rock band Bon Jovi. Released on November 3, 1992 through Mercury Records. It is the last album to feature original bass guitarist Alec John Such, before his dismissal from the band in 1994. It was also Bon Jovi's first album since 1985's 7800Â° Fahrenheit not to be produced by Bruce Fairbairn. The album was produced by Bob Rock and was recorded at the Little Mountain Sound Studios in Vancouver, Canada. Keep the Faith represents the beginning of a new chapter in the history of Bon Jovi, marking a change of both the band's image and sound. Moving away from their early glam metal roots in previous albums, it introduced a more "rock n roll" driven groove to Bon Jovi's sound. The album turned away from heavy drums and wild guitar solos, but instead introduced a new sound of Bon Jovi which consisted of piano ballads and long epic guitar solos.
