Bad Pony Season

Season is the fifth cut from Bad Pony's forthcoming debut album which has been in the works since the 5 piece returned from showcasing at SxSW in 2018. Another self-produced effort, Season dances between delicately sweet and bitter dark - flaunting electronic soundscapes, sultry crooning and all out destruction as the song crescendos into a guitar heavy final climactic clusterfuck.

"I remember sitting in my old room in Fitzroy on a cold, rainy day looking at the cracked sickly-yellow walls feeling completely flattened out from a break up. I picked up my guitar and the song just kind of poured out. It's about my self-destructive behaviour, obsession with achieving "success" as a musician and the resulting inability to hold down relationships. I'd like to think I've learned a lot about myself since writing this song. From that first demo it took a few versions and a lot of fiddling about from Sam Thomlinson (Guitar/Producer) to get the structure, parts and production completely right." - Jarred Young (Vocals/Drums)

Keeping true to the fragmented locations of each band member, 'Season' was written in Fitzroy VIC, recorded in Newcastle and Sydney NSW and flung into the digital realm from Russell Island QLD.

Bad Pony is celebrating the release by hitting the road in NSW and VIC on the co-headline 'Backwards Season' tour with long time band crush Fan Girl for their FIRST STANDING SHOWS SINCE 2020!!!
