A relentless tourer, three-time Golden Guitar winner, and long-time champion of the road less travelled, tattooed troubadour Andrew Swift today shares his latest single 'Get Lost' – a love letter to detours, dirt roads and the magic of getting off-grid.
"It's no secret that I love being on the road," Andrew shares. "I especially love going places that I've never seen before, and I feel like everyone should get out past the lights of the city or their hometown and get a little lost."
With his boots firmly planted in country and his sound stretching into pop and rock territory, 'Get Lost' is Andrew doing what he does best – blending big hooks with honest heart. Penned by Blake Dantier and produced by Matt Fell, the track hits that sweet spot between nostalgia and now.
"Get Lost was a whole lot of fun to bring to life in the studio," he says. "There are so many parts in this song that I love – Jeff King's guitar work makes me smile every time I hear it, I think Matt Fell had a bit too much fun with layering bass parts in the bridge, and I'm all for it. And just when I thought the song was done, Matt suggested we add some fiddle, and Luke Moller came to the party wearing his finest!"
The single follows on from the success of Andrew's previous banger 'Nothing Better', which hit #4 on both the AMRAP Metro and Country Radio charts, #14 on CMT and #26 on the CountryTown Hot 50 airplay chart. It landed Andrew cover artist status on Spotify's Fresh Country playlist and spots on New Music Friday, Apple Music's Country Risers and Aussie Country, and Amazon's Brand New Music.
From the Flinders Ranges to Winton and Normanton, Andrew has lived the lyrics – literally. "I can't help but think of touring when I listen to it" he says. "It makes me picture some of the remote places I've travelled whilst on tour."
It's the spirit that's driven his career – and his stats speak for themselves. More than 7.6 million career streams to date, three ARIA Top 10 albums and a trophy shelf that includes 2023 CMAA Golden Guitar Male Artist of the Year. He's also been recognised internationally, appearing as an official showcase artist at CMA Fest 2024.
Still, even road dogs need to pull over now and then - and for Andrew, the next stop is fatherhood. Due to become a first-time dad any day now, it's a milestone that brings new weight to the idea of getting lost - in the best way.
Not that he's parking the tour van just yet. With festival slots lined up throughout 2025, Andrew will be back on the bitumen soon, taking in Alexandra Truck Show, Kickin' Country Campout, Gympie Music Muster and Savannah in the Round.
Whether he's chasing down the white lines to his next gig or just on a nappy run, one thing's for sure – Andrew Swift knows how to craft a soundtrack for the journey. 'Get Lost' is the kind of track that begs to be turned up loud with the windows down - equal parts wanderlust and wide-eyed wonder. If you're looking for the perfect excuse to take the scenic route, this is it.
'Get Lost' is taken from Andrew's forthcoming album, set for release later in 2025.
