Who said reds are just for cooler months?
Spring into summer with four delicious new releases

Casella Wines, makers of Australia's iconic wine brand, [yellow tail], have begun releasing the new and flavoursome 2012 vintage of [yellow tail] red wines – an exceptional partner as we head into spring.

The 2012 [yellow tail] Pinot Noir, Merlot, Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon are now available across Australia.

Each wine is a blend of fruit from many regions across South Eastern Australia. We do this in order to ensure quality year on year. Luckily for us, we've had a good growing season, with cooler weather allowing a longer ripening period for the fruit to mature.

The grapes were regularly quality tested in the lead up to harvest and delivered to the Yenda winery in NSW in ideal condition; plump, healthy, with good balance. The grapes were fermented and matured in stainless steel tanks with some oak contact in order to give the wine a creamy texture and extra weight.

'While spring is conventionally a time for white wines, these four Aussie red wines are versatile options to be enjoyed across a variety of seasons. These reds have a balance and drinkability that make them perfect partners for around the BBQ in spring and summer," said Alan Kennett, [yellow tail]'s Chief Winemaker.

'Our red wines are rich in flavour but are approachable for hard and fast white wine drinkers. At an affordable price, they're a great way for people to experiment with red wine across the cooler and warmer months," he added.

2012 [yellow tail] Pinot Noir is a bright and youthful light bodied wine with plenty of bright fruit flavour. Prominent notes of strawberry, violet and dark cherry lift from the glass. Soft and fresh flavours of cherries, raspberry and spice linger and leave you wanting more.

2012 [yellow tail] Merlot is a youthful red in colour, and jumps from the glass with aromas of ripe plum and spice. Fresh and juicy flavours of mulberries, ripe cherries, chocolate and spice combine with soft tannins to finish soft, rich and simply delicious.

2012 [yellow tail] Shiraz is a bright and vibrant red wine. Red berry and spicy black pepper aromas are complemented by liquorice and blueberry flavours. Soft and juicy on the palate, the spice and berry flavours provide for a long and delicious finish.

2012 [yellow tail] Cabernet Sauvignon is a bright red colour with a fragrant, delicate nose. Brimming with rich blackberry and blackcurrant flavours with a touch of mint, the wine is mid-weight and displays a soft and juicy finish.

[yellow tail] red wines are available for RRP $9.99 at liquor retail outlets across Australia.
