This Wine Just Planted its 100,000th Tree to Help Save the Planet

Tread Softly, a lighter styled, moderate alcohol range of wines, has just planted its 100,000th tree in collaboration with Carbon Neutral, an environmental organisation that runs a regeneration program to help combat climate change.

"We are absolutely delighted to announce that we have planted 100,000 Australian native trees in the Yarra Yarra Biodiversity Corridor in WA to help Carbon Neutral in their commitment to reduce the harmful effects on the environment caused by greenhouse gas emissions," said general manager, Fourth Wave Wine, Ross Marshall.

Sourced predominantly from established vineyards in the famed wine producing state of South Australia, Tread Softly wines are crafted to better minimise environmental impact by working with vignerons utilising conservative and ecologically sound vineyard and water management. The vines are mostly dry-grown and utilise skilled canopy management to help control ripening and vigour.

"We wanted to give something back to the environment and so we decided to plant a native tree for every dozen bottles of Tread Softly Sold.  Now we have planted 100,000 trees in just over one year, we are aiming to plant 250,000 trees this year to help address the urgent need for an extensive, long-term regeneration program," said Ross.

Carbon Neutral specialises in measuring, reducing and offsetting greenhouse gas emissions and has revegetated over 10,000 hectares as part of their reforestation program.

"Since joining our Plant-a-Tree program in early 2019, Tread Softly Wine has shown a huge commitment to the planet and made a genuine impact on native habitat restoration in the Yarra Yarra Biodiversity Corridor," said Ray Wilson, CEO Carbon Neutral.
