Exclusive Smoothie Recipe

Australia's leading dietitian, Susie Burrell has created an exclusive seven-day smoothie recipe planner to provide Aussies with healthier alternatives – just in time for summer.

Created in partnership with Sunbeam, the delectable series has been crafted to celebrate the launch of Sunbeam's newest kitchen must-have and latest innovation in blending – the Sunbeam NutriSeal Vacuum Blender. With new vacuum seal technology, it removes air and locks in vitamins to deliver healthier blends that preserve up to 40% more vitamins* and stay fresh for 24 hours.

Using the NutriSeal's innovative technology, Susie has implemented her practical and easy to understand approach to diet, nutrition and wellbeing to create the perfect Monday to Sunday recipe series, which will see everyday Aussies through the week – from that much needed kick-start on a Monday, to the mid-week slump on a Wednesday and the desire for balance on a Sunday.

"With busy lifestyles in mind, these smoothies and juices will help you get essential vitamins and minerals into your diet in a nutritious and delicious way," says Susie Burrell.

"As a dietitian, I know how easy blending fruits and vegetables can be to increase the intake of nutritious foods. However, through the traditional process of blending, ingredients oxidise as they are exposed to the air, reducing the level of vitamins and minerals that can be consumed. Busy people need practical ways to help meal plan and prepare their healthy foods in advance. NutriSeal helps busy people do this and prepare their healthy juices and smoothies in advance with no worry of losing any of the nutrition in their favourite blended drinks'

The NutriSeal's vacuum seal technology pulls oxygen out of the blending process to deliver richer colour, less separation and smoother texture compared to traditional blending. It's smart blending if you want more from your smoothies - combine this product with my new recipe series and you're onto the winning combination!"

Interview with Susie Burrell, Australia's Leading Dietitian

Question: What inspired your latest partnership with Sunbeam?

Susie Burrell: I am a big fan of smoothies and fresh vegetable juices but they can be expensive to buy and can be time consuming to make. The launch of Sunbeam's NutriSeal Vacuum Blender has meant that time poor people can now prepare their nutritious smoothies and juices in advance and be sure that the quality, taste and nutrition of the smoothie or juice will be preserved up to 24 hours later. It is a great innovation to enhance nutrition.

Question: What is so special about the Sunbeam NutriSeal Vacuum Blender?

Susie Burrell: It has the unique ability to preserve the taste and consistency of fresh smoothies and juices by removing the extra oxygen from blended foods. This means you can make your breakfast smoothie in advance and even blend at night, ready for the following morning - perfect for busy people.

Question: Why are smoothies so good for our health?

Susie Burrell: Smoothies made with the right mix of fresh fruit, vegetables and dairy can be nutritious, convenient liquid meals for busy people. Consuming these fruits and vegetables in blended form is also great for digestion as the body can break them down easier.

Question: What motivates you when creating smoothie recipes?

Susie Burrell: I want a smoothie that contains protein for fullness, fibre for gut health, fresh fruit or vegetables for vitamins and not too much sugar. The advantage with vacuum blending is that I don't have to worry about losing those important vitamins and minerals during the blending process. Through the vacuum blending technology, air is removed from the blending process, therefore maximising nutritional value. Plus, they need to taste great.
