Melbourne's Theatrical Inc Announces School Of Rock The Musical

The producers of the smash hit Melbourne season Legally Blonde: The Musical, have today announced the next Theatrical Inc production, SCHOOL OF ROCK THE MUSICAL, with music by Andrew Lloyd Webber. Independent theatre group, Theatrical Inc and Executive Producer, Andrew G have undertaken a meticulous casting process across Melbourne in recent weeks, in order to find an explosive quadruple threat young cast for this much-loved cult musical. This exciting diverse cast features a fresh line up of emerging talent, that is in keeping with the ethos of Theatrical Inc's mission to provide opportunities for rising stars. This new Theatrical Inc production will be directed by Regional Tony Awrad winner Cody Riker, with musical direction by Mal Fawcett and choreography by Jaimee White. Based on the hit 2003 film starring Jack Black, School of Rock: The Musical follows Dewey Finn, a failed wannabe rock star who is down on his luck. After being kicked out of his band and threatened with eviction, Dewey's fortunes take a surprising turn when he intercepts a phone call meant for his flatmate, Ned Schneebly. Seizing the opportunity to make some quick cash, he poses as Ned and takes a substitute teaching position at the prestigious Horace Green prep school. With an award-winning score by Andrew Lloyd Webber and a cast of wildly talented kids playing live on stage, School of Rock is bursting with energy, humour and heart. Dewey teaches his students to let loose, find their voices and stick it to the man " and they end up teaching him a thing or two along the way.

With an incredible rock score, based on the hit 2003 movie, the show features original songs written for the musical, alongside classic rock numbers including AC/DC's "It's A Long Way To The Top (If You Want To Rock N Roll)" performed by live by the multi-talented cast. This vibrant production is a must-see for fans of the School of Rock 2003 film and newcomers alike.
