ARIA and multiple Golden Guitar award-winning artist Sara Storer today releases her eighth solo album Worth Your Love, marking yet another milestone in a career defined by authenticity, storytelling, and a deep connection to real-life moments.
A beloved voice in Australian country music, Storer first captured hearts with her 2000 debut Chasing Buffalo and has since built a legacy as one of the nation's finest songwriters. Known for her lyrical warmth, dry wit, and unmistakable voice, her music is a tribute to the land, the people, and the quiet poetry of ordinary life.
Her new album is no exception"offering a mix of heartfelt ballads, playful storytelling, and deeply personal reflections. Storer's eighth release is a return to her signature sound: grounded, honest, and brimming with heart.
One standout track is '175', a nostalgic and humorous ode to her own home address. "It captures the chaos, the laughter, and the tears behind the fences of every family home," Storer explains. "With four boys running wild, footy boots left on the porch"it's our world. And when we found out the previous owners had the exact same birthdays as us, well… it felt like the stars were aligning."
Another track, 'Blind Freddy', brings Storer's signature cheeky charm to the forefront. "It's a nudge and a wink at how we sometimes miss what's right in front of us. The colours, the smells, the signs life throws at us. Even Blind Freddy would've seen that coming!"
In contrast, 'On a Limb' is a gentle, introspective track that explores the quieter side of being a performer. "It's for the ones who hang back, who aren't chasing the spotlight. My big brother Doug once told me, 'Always stay grounded, Sar'"and this song is my way of holding onto that."
Perhaps the most revealing track on the album is 'Sing Her Heart Out', which addresses the challenges of balancing motherhood with a career in music. "The truth is, I've never stepped away," Storer says. "Even with four boys and a household to run, the music's always been there. I heard the whispers"that I didn't want it bad enough. That stung. But I've kept going. Kept writing, kept showing up."
This album is Sara Storer at her most open and assured - a celebration of resilience, family, and the deep roots that keep her grounded. Whether she's singing about street numbers or soul-searching, Storer's voice cuts through with rare clarity and heart.
