Tony Award nominee Ramin Karimloo has releases his version of "What You Own" from the Broadway classic Rent – available now from Sony Masterworks Broadway. The Iranian-Canadian singer and performer puts a new spin on one of the show's most inspiring duets, showcasing the powerful lyricism and emotional intensity of the Jonathan Larson-penned track – listen here.
Of the track, Ramin Karimloo says, "I was first inspired by Rent as a young man when it came out in Toronto. I loved the music and passion behind the story and score. I always flipped between wanting to play Roger and Mark... so I at least got a chance now to combine the two in this incredible song from the show."
Today's release follows another favourite cover from Ramin – his 2018 rendition of The Greatest Showman's "From Now On," available everywhere now. It is the latest in what is shaping up to be a big month for Ramin, who most recently launched his From Now On Tour, a run of 13 headlining tour dates throughout the U.K (additional information here). It was also announced earlier this month that Ramin will join the cast of the hugely-popular BBC One series Holby City, playing consultant Kian Madani in the medical drama.
