With a J Award nomination added to her already impressive list of accomplishments for 2016, today Ngaiire has enlisted her tour support, fellow chanteuse Wallace for a stunning live version of the Solange track, Rise. The live track comes a week out from the start of Ngaiire's -Inside Blastoma' tour, giving audiences along the East Coast a fresh look at her incredible sophomore album Blastoma, which reached #41 in the ARIA charts, #6 in the Urban charts and was shortlisted for the Australian Music Prize.
A songwriting powerhouse and vocal force to be reckoned with, her lauded live shows have seen her perform at various festivals including Groovin The Moo, Listen Out, Glastonbury, CMJ and Falls Festival, as well as a sold-out National album tour earlier this year. Ngaiire most recently supported the likes of Leon Bridges and Sufjan Stevens and made a special guest appearance at Splendour with Flume (who also featured her in his BBC Radio 1 mini-mix.)
Released via her own label, Maximillian Brown, and co-produced by Ngaiire, her sophomore album Blastoma follows on from her 2013 debut, -Lamentations' and is a product of passion and perseverance. The immensely powerful work refers to her childhood health struggle and saw her work with long time collaborators Paul Mac and Jack Grace, as well as songwriting assistance on various tracks on the album from Megan Washington. -Blastoma' features Triple J Hottest 100 track, -Once' and has reached over 1.6 million Spotify streams.
With Melbourne darling Woodes rounding out supports, expect a potent performance by one of Australia's most fearless musicians as she bookends what has undoubtedly been her launching pad to the worldwide recognition she deserves.
