Indie singer songwriter Neeko returns with her first single of the year, 'How Deep?' – the stirring title track of her anticipated debut EP. Weaving folk-laden pop melodies that gently buoy listeners into a state of utter serenity, Neeko sees music-making as a deeply cathartic practice. Her debut single 'Deep Sea Diver' was released independently last year, captivating audiences with its siren harmonies and spacious production that uplift Neeko's impressionable voice as one to be celebrated. The rising artist is thrilled to now reveal the track's sister release and announce the exciting news of her forthcoming EP, How Deep? just around the corner.

Out today via CD Baby, 'How Deep?' is the antithesis of 'Deep Sea Diver' and a heartwarming pick-me-up for lost souls and awakened lovers alike. Where 'Deep Sea Diver' is a rumination of heartbreak and healing, 'How Deep?' is a triumph of love and abundance. Empathy, intimacy and universal affection are bottled and presented here in the form of breezy harmonies, upbeat rhythms and a wonderful singalong chorus that is sure to stay bouncing around your head and heart long after the final hum. With sonic folk melodies akin to the likes of Fleet Foxes or Faye Webster, 'How Deep?' is a convergence of subtle guitar plucking, effortless bass and drum lines and simple yet powerful lyrics that resonate as deeply as its title dares you to dream.
"How Deep is a triumphant love song! It was written in a moment where I felt an overwhelming amount of gratitude, excitement and well, love for the person whom this song is about. It was one of those experiences of such immense feeling that I had to do something with it, hence came this song. It poured out of me in a matter of hours. I then quickly recorded a demo with all the backing vocal arrangements the next day so I could really capture the emotion. All of the arrangements in the final recording are the same so it really is true to the feeling I had upon writing it."  – Neeko

No stranger to the Melbourne music scene, Neeko has played countless shows around the country, sharing stages with the likes of Danika Smith, Allysha Joy, T Honey (aka Maple Glider) and even the Grammy Nominee Eric Roberson. Outside of her solo project, Neeko has performed backing vocals and contributed to an array of local outfits, including most notably playing drums in Melbourne psych rock outfit, Tomgirl. The band have been billed on prominent lineups such as Strawberry Fields and have supported industry heavyweights, Mildlife and GODTET among others. In 2017 Neeko started BLUME (Boss Ladies Under Musical Elevation) which aimed to celebrate, encourage and showcase women playing improvised music. Her love of improv expanded all the way out to Mparntwe (Alice Springs) where she began another jam night in 2018 that still runs to this day. After many years of collaborative focus, Neeko is astoundingly ready to leave her own stamp on the airwaves as a solo artist and continue to share stories of her love-journey with the approaching arrival of her debut EP, How Deep? this spring. Stay tuned for release details.
