Moonlight Cinema Review

Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth

Raise a toast to the beginning of a long summer of fun, food, and film as Australia's favourite open-air cinema, Moonlight Cinema, returns for another season of balmy nights, lush picnics and sizzling silver screen blockbusters.

On gorgeous green lawns in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth, Moonlight Cinema brings a relaxed festival atmosphere to film-watching. Round up some mates, the family, or a hot date, pack a picnic rug and a hamper of homemade goodies and relax under the stars for the quintessential summer cinema experience.

Advanced screenings, new releases and fan favourites are all part of this film-tastic spectacle, but Moonlight regulars know to get there early, and kick back with a drink, catch up with friends or spend quality time with the kids while soaking up the picturesque surrounds. The full Moonlight program goes on sale on Thursday 16 November, 2017.

Being a BYO* event, Moonlight Cinema is a low-cost, easy night out for everyone. If you're too busy to BYO don't stress, Moonlight can provide you with everything you need – hot food, drinks, snacks and bean bed rental. For a luxury experience, Moonlight's Gold Grass offers reserved bean beds in a premium viewing location and waiter service - perfect for spoiling yourself or someone special!

Review: What's better than watching a film, from a cosy bean-bag, in the Royal Botanic Gardens on a warm night? Nothing… except maybe the same scenario but on a cooler night, cuddling with a loved one, under a blanket!

Beautiful and oh so very summer the screen lights up as the sun sets, creating a picture-perfect setting to watch a movie under the stars. What's surprising to note is, that the standard Moonlight Cinema tickets are actually cheaper than your average movie cinema!

The Moonlight Cinema creates an amazing atmosphere for viewing new and old film favourites this Summer, I'll definitely be going back again and this time remember to take my own picnic, to enjoy.

I saw Breathe at Moonlight Cinema Melbourne, check out the movie review here.
