The Melbourne Craft & Quilt Fair Returns This September

Australia's most-loved craft event is back and it's bigger, brighter and more hands-on than ever. The Melbourne Craft & Quilt Fair will transform the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre into a creative playground from Wednesday 3rd to Saturday 6th September 2025 (10am-4pm each day), welcoming crafters, makers, quilters and curious newcomers for three full days of workshops, exhibitions and inspiration.

Presented by Expertise Events, the Fair is a mecca for all things handmade, from textile art and quilting to papercraft, beading, embroidery and beyond. It's an immersive experience for craft lovers of all levels, offering a chance to shop, learn and connect with fellow creatives.

What's On: Highlights of the 2025 Fair

Make & Takes and Hands-On Workshops
Try something new or master a technique you've always wanted to learn. From Egg Decorating to applique, watercolour painting to candle making, the Fair offers a mix of Make & Takes and Studio Workshops where visitors can sit down, get crafty and leave with a mini project made by hand;

The Knitters Lounge
Introducing the brand-new to Melbourne The Knitters Lounge, a relaxed, sales-free zone created for connection, creativity and downtime. It includes cozy seating, yarn, knitting and crochet tools.

NEW for 2025: Yarn & Thread Market Launch-
Announcing the launch of the Yarn & Thread Market, a curated marketplace designed to complement the popular Knitters Lounge. This exclusive area provides a dedicated platform for small-scale yarn, fibre, and thread makers to showcase their unique, handmade products to a highly targeted and passionate craft audience.

Threaded Connections Wall
This hands-on string art installation allows visitors to contribute to a collective artwork. It sparks nostalgia and joy while celebrating the shared creative journey of our community;

Community Inspiration Wall
At the entrance of the fair, this wall invites guests to answer the question: "What inspires you to craft?" In Sydney, this saw over 200 heartfelt contributions including quotes, stories and drawings, which created a powerful display of creativity and community spirit;

Expert-Led Seminars
Join our Expert Exhibitors as they share their tips, tricks and creative journeys in free seminars running daily. Topics cover everything from quilting techniques and colour theory to small business advice and modern embroidery;

AQC Challenge & Australian Quilt Show
A centrepiece of the Fair, the AQC Challenge 2025 showcases jaw-dropping quilt artistry built around this year's theme, "On The Map." Alongside it, the Australian Quilt Show gathers award-winning quilts from across the country in an awe-inspiring display of creativity, precision and passion;

One Red Thread Exhibition
Experience the powerful storytelling of fibre artists in One Red Thread, an evocative exhibition featuring works that reflect global connections, sustainability and shared human experience, all stitched through a single symbolic thread;

Victorian Quilters Showcase

Meet the Makers & Guest Artists
This year's Fair welcomes a vibrant line-up of guest artists and makers from around Australia and abroad including artist Louise Saxton who will be running a workshop to create a 'Momento Monogram' in her trademark style using vintage textiles. Attendees can meet textile designers, mixed media artists, authors and sewing superstars offering live demonstrations and meet-and-greets throughout the event;
