Multiplatinum reggae-pop quartet MAGIC! will touch down in Australia next week for a very special one-off show to take place at Sydney's Newtown Social Club on Tuesday 13 September. Tickets are on sale now from newtownsocialclub.com.
MAGIC! will be in the country promoting their new single -Red Dress' with key media moments throughout the week from September 12-16. This trip marks the band's third promotional visit to Australia to reconnect with their fans and media champions down under.
Released in July, MAGIC!'s sophomore album PRIMARY COLOURS features the breezy up-tempo -Red Dress', along with the stunning first single -Lay You Down Easy' ft. Sean Paul the video of which has already amassed over 10 million views.
MAGIC! is composed of Mark Pellizzer (guitar), Alex Tanas (drums), Ben Spivak (bass) and Grammy Award-winning songwriter/producer Nasri Atweh (Justin Bieber's MY WORLD 2.0, Chris Brown GRAFFITI). The band made their mark with hit single -Rude', released in 2014 before exploding into viral popularity. Holding the #1 spot on Billboard's Hot 100 chart for six weeks, -Rude' simultaneously dominated the charts globally, hitting #1 in 41 countries including Australia where it is now certified 5 x platinum. The track has been streamed over 500 million times on Spotify and the upbeat, quirky video for the single has seen over 1 billion Vevo views.
In May this year, MAGIC! performed alongside Jason Derulo at the Opening Ceremony for the 2016 Copa America Centenario, one of the largest soccer events in the US. With multiple nominations for Teen Choice, MuchMusic, Juno and Billboard Music Awards under their belt, along with wins for Breakthrough Group of the Year and Single of the Year (-Rude') at the 2015 Canadian Juno Awards, MAGIC! are showing no signs of slowing down.
