Husky Light a Cigarette

In addition to the release of Husky's new song LIGHT A CIGARETTE, the band unveil the striking new artwork for their forthcoming album, STARDUST BLUES out on AUGUST 7.

Speaking about the album artwork, Husky says, "We've been working and dreaming with Tunni for a long time now. We lived together at the Westbury Hotel, he's a dear friend and one of the inspirations for the new record".

LIGHT A CIGARETTE premiered on Double j with Zan Rowe on June 17, and the otherworldly live video, filmed in Hepburn in the dusk of a summer's day, after the demolition of their beloved Westbury Hotel, featured on The Music this week.

Discussing their new single, Husky says "Light a Cigarette continues to follow the protagonist of Stardust Blues as he navigates the highs and lows of a night out in the city. He immerses himself in friends, danger and the possibility of new love."

LIGHT A CIGARETTE follows on from their global NMF singles, 'SYWD', 'Cut Myself Loose' and 'Wristwatch', and the band will soon feature as part of Rolling Stone Australia's coveted 'In My Room Series'.

Stardust Blues was written at the Westbury Hotel, an old 1920s mansion that served as a kind of artist commune and a home to Husky and other artists from 2014 - 2019. The album is about the new life that comes after the death of things, the light that comes at the end of a long night.
