Carla Wehbe Releases Her Stunning EP 'Dark In The Light'

Australia's rising star Carla Wehbe today released her anticipated third EP, Dark In The Light - through Warner Music Australia. Listen here.

Featuring the previously released singles 'Life's An Awful Mess,' 'OCD,' and 'Gentle With Me,' Dark in the Light showcases a bolder, more anthemic sound for Carla. This punchy and deeply personal collection of tracks delves into Wehbe's explorations of relationships, anxieties, and the complexities of self-discovery, offering a raw and relatable listen for fans. Reflecting on Dark in the Light, Carla sees it as a collection of songs that naturally came together, exploring the balance between light and darkness in life.

Speaking on the EP Carla said, "Dark in the Light is an exploration of duality " a raw, emotional dive into the idea that light and dark coexist in all of us. Inspired by the balance of the universe, the EP is a sonic representation of yin and yang and the songs came from moments where I didn't know if I was breaking or healing " but it was probably both. It explores the idea that darkness and light aren't opposites, but companions.

The EP lives in the in-between: the heart ache beneath the smile, the flicker of hope inside despair, the beauty in contradiction, even the darkness inside of joy. It's not about choosing sides " it's about learning to live with both. Light bleeds, shadows breathe, and somewhere in the blur between the two, these songs found me. Maybe they'll find you too."

Following the release of her sophomore EP JUPITER AND MARS and soliciting the attention of global superstars Benson Boone and Teddy Swims and supporting international acts The Chicks and Alec Benjamin, 2024 continued to be a massive year for Carla. She kicked the year off by releasing her infectious single 'Sideshow', followed by the vintage-indie pop anthem 'Life's An Awful Mess', and ending the year by hitting the TikTok Awards stage with a performance of 'Austin' by US singer Dasha, and releasing her first original Christmas track 'christmas doesn't feel the same without you' - all while delivering dynamic performances while supporting international superstar G-FLIP, pop sensation Peach PRC, British singer and songwriter JP Cooper, and UK pop-rock artist Beth McCarthy, captivating audiences with her energy and charisma.

Carla
is cementing her rise as one of Australia's most electric indie pop artists, and with more exciting things to come be sure to keep an eye out for more music and touring in 2025.
