3 mobile reveals Mobile TV viewing habits for Big Brother 2006 Over 3.5 million streams were accessed during the 2006 Big Brother series
Now that Big Brother is over, 3 mobile today revealed over 3.5 million streams were accessed by customers throughout the series. Also released are the results of a 3 mobile customer survey highlighting the popularity of the reality program on 3's Mobile TV.
This year, 3 once again offered customers the exclusive opportunity to access Big Brother live Mobile TV 24/7 on their 3 mobiles. Figures released by 3 today show a trend towards customers changing their viewing habits and the way they watch Mobile TV. The average viewing time of Big Brother on 3 was 9.3 mins, an increase of 5 mins on last year. With a sharp viewing experience and the ability to watch Mobile TV on the go, customers are spending more and more time watching 3's Mobile TV.
3's customers also enjoyed watching Friday Night Games and following the action in the house after Sunday night evictions on their mobiles. The most popular events which showed the highest concurrent streams were the Rogue Traders' appearance and when the first intruders entered the house.
Amanda Hutton, 3's Head of Mobile TV & Music said, "Customers are watching Mobile TV on 3 as an extension of the program, when they can't get to a standard television, when the show isn't on air, or as soon as the show finishes to get a real behind the scenes look. Our customers see Mobile TV as a great complimentary service to regular TV."
Who watched it and when*:
The longest continuous steam watched by a 3 customer was 7 days long
Total streams duration was equivalent to 55 years
