Following a stellar start to 2019 with the release of her debut EP 'Hold Yourself Together', Asha Jefferies today returns with her tender new single, '
Bad Kisser'.
September and October will see the Brisbane singer-songwriter embark on a string of tour dates in Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane, plus a special performance at Brisbane Festival in support of renowned Canadian artist City & Colour.
Glimmering with vulnerability, 'Bad Kisser' is a melodic coming-of-age tale for Jefferies. "I wrote it about an extremely euphoric and tragic moment involving a festival; lust, longing, intoxication & one ultra-big insult," she reflects. "It takes a bit of growing up to realise not every interaction you have with a stranger you like and meet will be romantic."
'Bad Kisser' also signifies a new direction for Jefferies, as she continues to draw on life experience with a fresh perspective.
"After the satisfaction of releasing my first debut EP and first headline tour, I took an enduring time and effort away to re-discover myself - grow up as a person, not just developing as an artist. I've created a new sound and direction, in ode to the many things I did experience in the months I had off and in the movement of growing up."
'Bad Kisser' was recorded and produced in Sydney with the aid of Chris Collins (Middle Kids / Ruby Fields / Tyne James-Organ).
Australian singer/songwriter Asha Jefferies, has been writing candid songs since the age of 13, detailing the feelings and moments of her life in a warm attempt to hold those memories forever.
