Things Everyone Forgets When They Move House

It can be easy to forget important items in the rush of moving house. With so much going on and so many other things to remember, it is inevitable that something will get left behind. To try and prevent this from happening. we've come up with a household essentials list of the most commonly forgotten items, so you can make sure you don't forget them next time you move.

Library books
While lots of people rely on digital books now, library books are still very frequently used, and it can be easy to forget that you have them. Go through the house and find all the library books you still have and take them back to the library before they are overdue. You don't want to end up with library fees because you forgot you still had books lying around.

Keys
It may seem like a strange thing to forget, but believe it or not, lots of people forget their keys when they move! Make sure you keep them in a place where you won't forget them, such as a purse or on a tray beside the door. if you're leaving a rental property you'll need to get the keys back by a specific time, so you definitely don't want to be delayed because you left the keys behind.

Gym membership
If you have a local gym membership, you need to remember to cancel it before you move. It can be easy to forget that you pay to go to the gym, especially if it is a direct debit or yearly payment. Before you move, make sure you have arranged to have your membership cancelled so you don't continue to get charged for a service you are no longer using. This will definitely save you money!

Toilet paper
As obvious as it seems, toilet paper is often forgotten during the moving process. It is such a basic necessity that people forget to pack it, leaving them stranded when they arrive at their new home. Make sure you pack your toilet paper in a secure, easy location to find, so that you'll be prepared with all the basics when you move.

Bills
If you don't remember to change the address your bills are sent to, or organise a mail redirection, you're going to struggle to pay your bills next time they come through. To make it even easier on yourself, you can arrange to have most bills delivered online now, so you won't have to stress about your bills being sent to the wrong location. Make sure you get this sorted nice and early so you don't end up with overdue bills.

Plungers and toilet bowl cleaners
Although this may seem like a strange addition to this list, it will be well worth it if you arrive at your new home and have no way of cleaning the toilet. Houses aren't always in perfect condition when we arrive, so it's better to be prepared and take cleaning supplies with you. This will definitely be something you regret if you leave your cleaning supplies behind.

Your moving day will already be busy enough, and you don't want to have to rush back to find any items you left behind. If you keep on top of everything and make a checklist of everything you need to do, this will help prevent panic on moving day.
