The Huon Valley Mid-Winter Fest

Tasmania's Huon Valley will beckon visitors from near and far this winter for the third annual Huon Valley Mid-Winter Festival with a tempting range of accommodation packages and exclusive deals on offer to complement the three day pagan inspired festival.

Hosted by the team from Willie Smith's Cider at The Apple Shed from 15 – 17 July, the Mid-Winter Festival invites travellers to embrace the chill of the -apple valley' for a weekend celebration including the ritual of -wassailing' that warns off bad spirits and awakens dormant apple trees for a plentiful harvest. Festival-goers can indulge in locally produced food, wine, beer and cider, listen to mesmerising and psychedelic tunes from Australian artists Ungus Ungus Ungus, and engage in the alluring street theatre of Annie Lee from the Kransky Sisters as well as be captivated by passionate storyteller, Jackie Kerin, who delves into traditional tales from around the world.
