The Commons

Set in a familiar future, the Stan Original series The Commons is a gripping character-driven relationship drama and a story about motherhood as the ultimate act of faith in humanity. Taking us into a world one step forward technologically and two steps backward ecologically is Eadie (Golden Globe winner Joanne Froggatt). Brain Doctor. Desperate Wannabe Mum. Eadie will take us on a ride through the weather channel gone wild and the terrifying brave new world of science where she will come face-to-face with the dark heart of intellectual property theft, disaster capitalism and the swampland that is the new eugenics.

Written and created by AACTA Award-winner Shelley Birse (The Code) and featuring an all-star cast led by Joanne Froggatt (Downton Abbey), the series also stars David Lyons (Safe Haven), Ryan Corr (Stan Original Series Bloom), Rupert Penry-Jones (Spooks) and Damon Herriman (Stan's Perpetual Grace, Ltd), with a stellar lineup of directors guiding the action – including Jeffrey Walker (Lambs of God, Riot), Rowan Woods (Nowhere Boys, Rake) and Jennifer Leacey (Reckoning, The Secrets She Keeps).
