Tall Heights New Album

Pretty Colors For Your Actions

Boston duo Tall Heights will release their forthcoming album Pretty Colors For Your Actions October 5 via Sony Music Masterworks. The duo have just released Pretty Colors For Your Actions album track Midnight Oil alongside the album pre-order announcement. Midnight Oil is one of four tracks included with pre-order, alongside lead single The Deep End, and previously released songs Not Like It Was and Fire Escape. Listen to Midnight Oil now.

Co-produced by Oliver Hill and Steve Wall (both of whom worked with the group on their 2016 LP Neptune), Pretty Colors For Your Actions finds the duo of Tall Heights exploring a range of musical influences and emotions.  The 11-track album is underpinned by the duo's signature melodies, layered and shaped with live instrumentation and contemporary production to create the sonic universe that is Pretty Colors For Your Actions.  The songs range from hard-hitting ballads (House on Fire & Not Like It Was) to hook-laden, synth-heavy numbers Oslo & White Frost to sprawling jams Over Now and philosophical trips Roanoke.  A foundational song for the album, lead single The Deep End is both buoyant and upbeat, yet clouded by a feeling of darkness, a conflict of emotions further explored in Midnight Oil, from which the album's title is taken.

Having spent the better half of 2018 touring across the globe, today's news arrives just days before Tall Heights joins Ben Folds and Cake on their August run of amphitheater dates.  Kicking off this Monday in their hometown of Boston, the tour marks the second time they've played alongside Ben Folds, who hand-picked the duo to be part of his backing band as well as opener.  Tall Heights will continue their robust live schedule with a September run of dates alongside Colony House and their own headlining North American tour this October.  The Pretty Colors For Your Actions tour will bring Tall Heights' highly-anticipated new music to fans in over 35 cities, with stops at The Roxy in Los Angeles, Washington DC's U Street Music Hall and Brooklyn's Music Hall of Williamsburg before a hometown finale at Boston's Royale.

The energy, focus and inspiration Paul Wright and Tim Harrington are harnessing in 2018 feels like a rebirth.  Having amassed over 130 million streams worldwide, the duo of Tall Heights are currently on their biggest winning streak, touring the US and Europe alongside acts like Ben Folds, CAKE, Judah & the Lion and Colony House, and racking up accolades across the press world from the likes of Paste, SPIN, Huffington Post, NPR and Stereogum, in addition to making their broadcast performance debut on Conan.  With no plans of slowing down anytime soon, Tall Heights now gear up for the release of their most ambitious project yet, sophomore album Pretty Colors For Your Actions. Stepping away from the production-heavy, synthetic palette of earlier releases, Pretty Colors For Your Actions is a uniquely original record that melds man-made instrumentation with grandiose, contemporary production.  The highly-anticipated album is just the start of a huge fall for the group, who will then take their newly-released music across North America for 30+ headlining tour dates beginning this October.
