Pop singer-songwriter Sophia Kaloustian unveils her deeply emotive EP Conclusions of Grandeur, taking a deep dive into her impactful past relationships. The EP is Kaloustian's testimonial to herself, self-reflecting upon her idealized hopes for perfect partnerships. Through her open lyricism and soothing tone, Kaloustian unpacks the reality of her demeanor and "being," both in and out of these loves. Conclusions of Grandeur is now available to stream and download worldwide.
Conclusions of Grandeur is an intimate eight-track piece picking apart Kaloustian's ability to regain herself after being so co-dependent on her prior partners and the grief that comes from the heartbreak of such once important loves. From the beginning, listeners are immersed in the world of Sophia Kaloustian through the inviting ambient tone of "the absence of them all (dream)." "Conclusions of Grandeur is the sonic encapsulation of my vulnerable emotional processing and lament of very pivotal relationships/involvements with three specific guys in my life, all of which had very grandiose, dramatic endings," Kaloustian explains. The story behind the EP goes even deeper. "The title Conclusions of Grandeur was born from that commonality of the grand conclusions these situations all devolved into, combined with my desire to play off the phrase 'delusions of grandeur' by alluding to the delusional nature of the romanticized hopes I had within these past relationships." Kaloustian utilizes a flowy, diary-like feel within this EP, showcasing the many emotional effects that separating from a passionate love can have on an individual. Familiar fan favorites, "Used To Breathe," "slow dancing, slow destruction," and "best intentions" are featured on the EP, revealing her iconic ability to mix her dynamic vocals and blending of pop and indie influences. Newer songs such as "the line," truly capture her lively powerhouse vocals and deep lyricism with a fresh acoustic sonic landscape making the song unforgettable. To resonate and be honest with listeners, Kaloustian fuels this project with personal experiences. "This project dissects not only the inevitable grief associated with heartbreak, but also grief for the version of me that only existed being romantically co-dependently attached to someone else in an ever-present state of limerence and the obligation to then completely rewire my internal and external worlds to evolve into someone I've never been before." Conclusions of Grandeur was written by Sophia Kaloustian, mixed and produced by Coen Sosa, and mastered by Noah McCorkle, who most recently was the assistant mastering engineer for Billie Eilish's latest record, giving this EP the fresh, energetic sound and well-crafted production that it embodies.
