BACHELOR IN PARADISE CREW REUNITE FOR A GREAT CAUSE!

One of Australia's favourite reality TV casts, the Bachelor in Paradise crew, will reunite for one night at Flamingo Lounge Sydney, Friday 8th June to raise much needed funds for cancer research.

Fans of the show can purchase tickets to meet the coupled-up cast and enjoy cocktails, photo ops and great music at the Paradise Party. Hosted by Jake Ellis and Megan Marx the event will be attended by Paradise favourites and recently engaged Tara Pavlovic and Sam Cochrane, Michael Turnbull, Florence Alexandras and Davey Lloyd to name but a few. Last year's Bachelor Matty J and partner Laura Byrne will also be among the Bachie alumni attending.

Partnering with The World's Biggest Dinner, a charity that aims to raise money for Cure Cancer Australia by encouraging people to host their own dinner party be it a casual BBQ, or in this case, a party! Funds raised from the event will go towards funding cancer research.

Following the tragic loss of his mother in January, after a 25-year battle with breast cancer, Jake Ellis and girlfriend Megan Marx wanted to bring their Paradise friends together for a great cause. Explaining his desire to make a difference, Jake said: 'When I lost my mum I took it upon myself, with the help of Megan and others like The World's Biggest Dinner and Born Bred Talent to try to make a difference and raise some much-needed funds for researching a cure for this disease that touches to many people's lives. I'm so grateful to the cast and our wonderful sponsors for getting involved."

Major sponsor Happy Skin Co has helped make this event happen. The brand's founder Dylan Mullen said: "We're just a couple of guys from Sydney that realised, if you have a vision that you believe in enough and you're willing to put in the work, you can make anything happen. Since launching in April our handsets have been incredibly popular. So, when Jake asked if we'd like to be a part of this amazing event, we didn't hesitate. Everyone knows someone who's life has been effected by cancer in some way so if we had an opportunity to play our part in the fight against this horrible disease, the answer was always going to be yes."

Other major event sponsors and other generous partners include Flamingo Lounge and Vantage Australia. Creator of Vantage Australia, Bill Hargitay said: 'Australia's very own spirit, Vantage Australia, is proud to be helping raise funds for Cancer research by providing the cocktails on the evening. Reflective of the Aussie outback, Vantage draws its inspiration from premium native botanicals and as an Australian spirit, we are proud to be supporting this worthy cause."

Interview with Jake Ellis

Question: What is the Paradise Party?

Jake Ellis: The Paradise Party was discussed by the Bachelor in Paradise cast when we were filming in November 2017 – we all wanted to do something for a good cause. At the time I was filming, my Mum was fighting another cancer battle and when I bought up the subject of a fundraiser everyone was super keen to be involved. I lost Mum in early January, this year, which put me into drive to get the event going and I'm glad everyone jumped on board.

Question: We've very sorry to hear about your Mum. What do you hope to achieve from the Paradise Party, in her memory?

Jake Ellis: I shared Mum's story on the Bachelorette in 2016 and since then I've been involved in charities whether that be as a guest speaker, sharing Mum's story or being an ambassador. I'm very passionate about being involved in charities and Mum was super supportive when I was sharing her story.

When the chance came to reunite the cast for a good night and good cause, I knew Mum would be super proud at that.

Question: What can attendees expect from the Paradise Party?

Jake Ellis: We've partnered up with The World's Biggest Dinner and we want to raise money for them, which is the biggest thing. Everyone who watched Bachelor in Paradise has been so supportive and have sent super nice messages via social media; we wanted to give them the chance to have fun with us, in a relaxed atmosphere where it's bound to be a really good night. Everyone can meet everyone and see the other side of the cast that they didn't see, on TV.

Question: Which of the Bachelor in Paradise cast will be at the event?

Jake Ellis: The response has been amazing, some of the cast can't attend as they have other commitments but Megan Marx, Tara Pavlovic and Sam Cochrane, Michael Turnbull, Florence Alexandras, Davey Lloyd, Luke Mcleod, Eden Schwencke, Brett Moore, Elora Murger, Simone Ormesher, Rachel Gauvignon, Leah Costa, Nina Rolleston, Blake Colman and Mack Reid will all be at the Paradise Party with myself.

Other guests include Noni Janur, Alexandra Nation, Tegan Martin, Ryan Gallaher, Jono Castanoacero, Dylan Orval (Angry Dad), Matty J and Laura Byrne.

Question: Who has helped you and Megan put this event on?

Jake Ellis: The response to work with the cast and for such a good cause has been amazing; we want to raise as much money as we can. Happy Skin Co is one of the sponsors, they are a laser hair removal company who has been very supportive. Vantage Australia is an alcohol brand who is sponsoring the event, one of the owners sadly lost a wife to cancer a few years ago which is why he jumped on board. And, Tarocash who have worked with a lot of the Bachelor in Paradise cast, too.

Cancer has affected so many different people, in so many different ways – no one has hesitated to jump on board to raise funds.

Question: How much do you think the auctioned date with Michael Turnbull will go for?

Jake Ellis: (laughs) Michael Turnbull has been great, his auctioned a date for charity before and a group of ladies bid $14,000 for him! At last glance the auction was at $2,600 – which is amazing. Michael Turnbull has been a major supporter and has been doing everything he can to raise as much money, as possible.

Question: Would you hope to run an event like this in other cities in Australia?

Jake Ellis: I'd love to take this nationally especially as we've been asked the same question on social media. We'd love to but we'll see how well we survive this one, there may be a few hangovers!

Question: What have you been up to since Bachelor in Paradise finished screening?

Jake Ellis: Since the finale I've been keeping low; Megan and I have been together since the show finished filming, which is six months together. We took a trip to Thailand but mostly we've been working very hard on the Paradise Party event to make it as successful as possible.

ABOUT WORLD'S BIGGEST DINNER: The World's Biggest Dinner is a fundraising initiative for cancer research, allowing anybody to take part and enjoy great food and great company, whilst raising awareness and vital funds to find a cure to cancer. The idea behind this is that it doesn't support just one type of cancer but rather all of them, because everyone has been touched by cancer in some way, shape or form. This simple initiative is to invite your friends over for a delicious dinner and have them give you a donation for what they would have spent on a meal out. All funds raised go to the Cure Cancer Foundation. www.worldsbiggestdinner.com
