Save the date: With the WA State Government and Virgin Australia announcement of discounted flights between Perth and Kununurra from $249 one way, there's never been a better time to book a Kimberley trip to coincide with the Ord Valley Muster and cross it off your bucket list.

Virgin Australia will operate five flights per week to Kununurra between April and September 2021 on Boeing-737 aircraft, increasing capacity on the route by over 65 per cent.

The 'Muster' will be held from 21st to 29th May in Kununurra and events include Indigenous culture and dance, dining experiences, wellness sessions, a proper country rodeo, laugh-out-loud comedy and a special event to commemorate the 20th anniversary is currently in planning.

Ord Valley Events' chairman, Beau Robinson, said that flight prices to the East Kimberley have never been cheaper.

"It's an incredible price and I'd encourage anyone who's been dreaming about going to the Muster 'one day' to make their dream come true – at these prices, we don't expect flights to last," Mr Robinson said.

The bucket-list hallmark event of the Ord Valley Muster is the Aviair HeliSpirit Kimberley Moon Experience (general admission) and the glamorous Kimberley Fine Diamonds Dinner, which will be held on Saturday 22nd May 2021.

The black-tie Kimberley Fine Diamonds Dinner is the region's night of nights and includes champagne, canapes, multi-course dining, an open bar and exclusive dance floor to party the night away to some of Australia's biggest artists under the Kimberley stars.

An announcement of the artists performing at the Aviair HeliSpirit Kimberley Moon Experience is expected to be made on 30th October 2020, with tickets on sale the same day.

"In the past, we've had some of Australia's biggest artists like Amy Shark, Jimmy Barnes, Darryl Braithwaite, Paul Kelly, Guy Sebastian, Pete Murray, The Cat Empire, Bernard Fanning play at the 'Moon' and we can say that that this year's line up will be just as impressive," Mr Robinson said

After a tumultuous year and the cancellation of the 2020 event, the Ord Valley Muster 2021 is expected to sell out and kick start next year's tourism season in Western Australia's incredible East Kimberley region.

Visitors are urged to start planning their trip now and are encouraged to stay and explore nearby attractions including the Mirima National Park, El Questro, Lake Argyle or take a river cruise along the Ord River, the life force of the region or a scenic flight over the Bungle Bungle or Mitchell Plateau in order to really appreciate the vastness and beauty of the untouched ancient landscape. Travel packages that include flights, tours and tickets to shows will be released soon.

The host town, Kununurra, is the gateway to the magnificent East Kimberley, which rewards visitors with spectacular gorges, natural springs and watering holes, red earth, big blue skies and unrivalled natural beauty across the country that's dotted with fat boab trees.

The State Government is a proud supporter of the event through Tourism WA's Regional Events Program.

The Ord Valley Muster will take place from Friday 21st May to Saturday 29th May 2021 in Kununurra, Western Australia.
